Class Overview

FieldCrest School of Performing Arts offers a wide range of dance classes, for boys and girls ages 3 through 18 years. Classes are available for beginners through advanced dancers. Please contact the studio to learn more about the different styles of dance, or for class placement assistance for your child.

Available Classes

Ballet

Misty Copeland style of dance. Classical ballet is taught in the Cecchetti method based on techniques that focus on fast footwork, clean lines, and smooth transitions between positions.

Jazz

Jazz dance combines sharp, energetic movements with dynamic musicality, blending technique, rhythm, and performance flair across a range of styles from Broadway to contemporary.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is ballet fused with modern and jazz, incorporating African and Japanese movement.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop dance is structured street dance primarily performed to hip hop music but not limited to a wide range of contemporary music.

Modern Dance

Modern Dance is taught when we fuse ballet with jazz and contemporary dance techniques to create fluid choreography.

Tap

Tap dance is using your feet like drums. Dancers wear special shoes with metal taps to make syncopated percussive instruments with their feet.

Majorette

High-energy baton-style performance training to the stage.

Acting

Acting classes build confidence, stage presence, and storytelling skills through scene work, improvisation, voice, and character development for young performers.

Modeling

Modeling & Etiquette training teaches posture, poise, runway technique, and social etiquette to help performers shine on and off the stage.

Dress Code

Purchase your dance attire at FieldCrest.

  • Girls — black or pink leotards and black, pink or skin-toned tights.
  • Boys — black jogging pant and top.
  • Shoes — ballet, tap, jazz.
